Software-update: phpAdsNew 2.0.5 RC2

De ontwikkelaars van phpAdsNew hebben onlangs de tweede release candidate van versie 2.0.5 uitgebracht. RC2 is een development release en wordt afgeraden om op een productieserver te gebruiken. Door op deze link te klikken kan de nieuwbakken versie vanaf verschillende mirrorservers gedownload worden. phpAdsNew is een open-sourcebannersysteem waarmee banners en advertenties binnen een site beheerd kunnen worden. Het programma bevat diverse opties om statistieken te maken van de gedraaide advertenties, bepaalde banners op een onderdeel van de site te draaien en campagnes op specifieke targets te richten. phpAdsNew heeft een omgeving nodig met MySQL en PHP in combinatie met Apache of Microsoft IIS. De release notes en het changelog van versienummer 2.0.5 RC2 zien er als volgt uit:

I am happy to announce the second release candidate of phpAdsNew v2.0.5! This release mainly adds the possibility to display transparent Flash banners and fixes the two features added in RC1:

• a workaround to avoid exceeding the 20 cookie limit;
• full support to all MaxMind database types.

Of course the release contains also some other bug fixes: see the change log for more details. If you are experiencing the cookie limit problem, please upgrade and test the workaround by enabling it in delivery settings.

• 2005-06-07: New unified plugin wasn't working with GeoIP region v115 databases and canadian IPs (Matteo, thanks to Thomas J Mather)
• 2005-06-08: Non-US/CA regions delivery limitations weren't available with GeoIP city database (Matteo)
• 2005-06-08: Country names and US/CA region names were not correctly sorted (Matteo)
