SyncBack Freeware kan data synchroniseren of simpelweg een backup maken naar een locatie op de zelfde schijf, een andere schijf, een ander medium zoals een cd-rw of een CompactFlash-kaartje, een ftp-server of een zip-archief. SyncBackSE is de shareware broer van SyncBack Freeware en bevat meer en uitgebreidere functies. Sinds kort staat versie 4 klaar om binnen gehaald te worden met de volgende veranderingen:
SyncBackSE 4:
- Smart synchronisation: SyncBackSE knows if a file has been changed both in the source and the destination, unlike the freeware version of SyncBack. This helps you decide on what course of action to take, or to let SyncBackSE make the decision for you.
- Fully Unicode: file and folders with their name in any language can now be copied. Previous versions used Multi Byte Character Set (MBCS) and so were restricted to their current locale (and English).
- Faster and improved Zip compression (now Zip64 with AES encryption): a completely new compression engine is now being used. This improves compression ratios, removes size limitations, and increases compression speed. It also adds AES encryption to secure your files.
- Complete control over which files & folders to backup and restore.
- Clear & complete control over what to do with changed & new files.
- Powerful regular expression support to filter out (or in) files and directories: files and folders can now be included, or excluded, based on their name by using powerful regular expressions.
- New log file format to clearly show the results of a profile run: the new log file format lets you clearly see which files were copied successfully and which ones failed.
- More profile configuration options.
- New folder & file selection tree to allow for complete control over what files & folders are included in a profile.
- Improved Fast Backup options.
- Completely revised and extended Help File.
