Software-update: Xfire 1.38

Xfire een instant messaging-programma dat speciaal voor gamers wordt geschreven. Zo kan er niet alleen worden gechat met mensen op de contactlijst, maar is er ook te zien waar ze op dit moment aan het spelen zijn en kan men zichzelf vervolgens aan dit spel toevoegen. Op dit moment worden volgens deze pagina over de 340 spellen ondersteund, waarvan er aan 128 spellen vanuit het programma via "Instant Joining" meteen kan worden meegedaan. De ontwikkelaars van Xfire hebben versie 1.38 uitgebracht met het volgende changelog:

Version 1.38

• Added the ability to chat with multiple people at the same time in one group chat room. To test it out, right click on someone in your friends list and select Invite to Group Chat. This is the first public release of group chat; we will be enhancing it in coming updates.
• Added the ability to set Xfire to launch on Windows startup in the Tools | Options dialog.
• Updated language translations for Danish, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish, Chinese (Traditional), and Chinese (simplified).
• Fixed a problem where Xfire could crash while attempting to login.
• Fixed game joining for Red Orchestra.
• Fixed Xfire In-Game problem with ancient graphics cards that can't handle textures of a non-power of 2 size (including Nvidia TNT2 cards).
• Fixed a problem where a file download could stall while retrieving metadata.
• New games supported: Silent Hunter III, Nexus - The Jupiter Incident, Act of War: Direct Action, Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time, Colin Mcrae Rally 05, Playboy - The Mansion, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale - Heart of Winter, Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil, Darwinia Demo, Darwinia, SWAT 4, Worms World Party, Driv3r.

Technical Support Note:
Integrating Xfire In-Game with dozens of games is complicated and difficult. If you notice any problems with a game you play immediately after updating Xfire, please try disabling Xfire In-Game by going to the Tools menu, Options, Chat tab, and clear the check box labeled "Show chat messages in game". Then, exit Xfire through the Xfire menu, Exit. Logging out is not enough--you must exit Xfire and restart it for the change to take effect.

Alleen jammer dat het toch een flinke FPS drop veroorzaakt, omdat het een redelijk zwaar programma is ...

SWAT 4 ondersteuning, eindelijk! Ook goed dat ze aan ondersteuning voor oudere spellen blijven werken, zoals Giants, dat spel is uit 2001 ofzo. Ook mooi dat ze bugs fixen voor oude TNT kaarten, pc's op het werk hebben die wel eens.

@ All_Star: Ik heb een hele tijd Enemy Territory met Xfire gespeeld op m'n P3 800 mhz, geen last van FPS drop, ligt misschien gewoon aan pc/bug/spel.

Go vaag, had een paar dagen geleden al geroepen dat het progrie een update had.
O well, :7blij dat die er nu wel bij staat.

Just dit stukje software, nouwelijks een inpact op mijn systeem.
