Software-update: Central Brain Identifier 7.4.0.3

Vandaag is de derde release van Central Brain Identifier versie 7.4 uitgekomen. Het volledige versienummer is 7.4.0.3 build 0212 R3 en het programma kan hier worden gedownload. Central Brain Identifier herkent meer dan vijftig modellen AMD-processors en geeft gedetailleerde informatie zoals de naam, revisie en voltage van de core, frequentie, rating, cache en PowerNow-technologie. Daarnaast is het ook in staat enkele tweaks uit te voeren ten aanzien van bijvoorbeeld de L1-cache en het Clock Control Register. In versie 7.4 is een nieuwe tab toegevoegd waar informatie van "mobile features" van K7- en AMD64-processors wordt weergegeven. Een changelog is niet beschikbaar, maar wel valt er het volgende over deze release te lezen:

The newest version has featured with two new tabs. The first tab shows the most important instructions supported by the processor and slightly copies the Processor tab. The second one is absolutely new and organized to provide specific information about mobile features of any K7 and AMD64 processor, such as voltage stabilization time, PLL lock time, a type of voltage regulator, etc. Now, as mentioned before, the Brain can scan implemented in the BIOS performance state tables and extracts the data about all possible "multiplier-voltage" (FID/VID) combinations of the processor. This may help to analyze the mobile capabilities of the desktop or mobile processor and its hidden potential. I know only one tool that can do the same, it's an AMD PSCheck, but unfortunately it has an NDA status. Now CBId uncovers what has been unavailable for a long time for public use. Besides, there are following additions in CBId Release 3: added complete identification of exotic models of Athlon XP 2900+, Athlon 64 3300+ with 256KB L2 cache size, Sempron 2600+/2800+ (Socket 754) and Opteron HE 248 with revision E.[break]

wat is nu precies het verschil tussen cpu-z en dit programma?

Deze is specifiek voor AMD processors (wel allen K7 en AMD64).
CPU-Z kan alleen informatie uitlezen, hier kan je ook instellingen veranderen.
Met CBId kan je ook veel meer informatie over de processor uitlezen dan met CPU-Z

Er zit gelijk alweer een fout in.
Bij HTL (HTT) speed word nu maar 800 MHZ weer gegeven, terwijl het toch echt 1000 MHz is.
In Sisoft Sandra word het wel goed weer gegeven.

edit: net nog even 7.30 geprobeerd, geeft de HTL speed wel goed weer.

Yep, dit probleem heb ik ook met m'n Athlon 64 3200+ (S939). Hij doet net alsof de HyperTransport multiplier 4x is ipv 5x...

Overduidelijk een foutje dus.

Wel zonde dat het enkel voor AMD processors is.
Het zou ook wel pratisch zijn moest Intel ook ondersteund worden. En hier ook enkele tweaks op de L1-cache uit te voeren. Dan wordt de doelgroep voor dit kleine en fijne stukje freeware direct enorm vergroot.

Hmm, waar is de X voor sluiten gebleven? (staat wel in de screendump) Ik neem aan dat ik al een bugje heb gevonden...

Wat ik nou niet snap is dat er bij Processor Core thorton/w512k staat. Bij CPU-Z krijg ik keurig barton te zien. Of is dit wat anders?
