Het is een tijdje stil geweest rond Central Brain Identifier, maar enkele dagen geleden is eindelijk de langverwachte versie 7.4.0.0 uitgekomen in de vorm van Release 1. Met dit programma kunnen AMD-processors worden geïdentificeerd. Het herkent meer dan vijftig modellen en geeft gedetailleerde informatie zoals de naam, revisie en voltage van de core, frequentie, rating, cache en PowerNow-technologie. Daarnaast is het ook in staat enkele tweaks uit te voeren ten aanzien van bijvoorbeeld de L1-cache en het Clock Control Register. Een changelog is niet beschikbaar, maar wel valt er het volgende over deze release te lezen:
The main innovation of the current version consists in additional software mechanism that enables FID transitions for fully mobile or modified AMD K7-based processors on the desktop motherboards. In some cases it may solve the problem with an inability to change a CPU clock ratio. The checking mechanism works fine with the VIA KT333, KT400A, KT600 and nVidia nForce2 chipsets. The newest 'Brain' shows the full list of supported frequencies of HyperTransport link by the AMD64 processor, correctly determines low-power models of Athlon64 processor based on Odessa core. Under power support of Wadik Alekseev CBId now tunes the memory timings of the VIA KT400A and KT600 chipsets much better and more effective.
