Software-update: PeaZip 10.5.0

Versie 10.5.0 van PeaZip is verschenen. Dit archiveringsprogramma wordt onder een opensourcelicentie beschikbaar gesteld en downloads zijn beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux en macOS. Het programma wil zich van de concurrentie onderscheiden door zich te specialiseren in veiligheid. Het versleutelen van data is dan ook een van de voornaamste functies van het eigen peaformaat. PeaZip kan 7z-, bz2-, gz-, paq/lpaq-, pea-, quad-, tar-, upx- en zipbestanden creëren en diverse bestandsformaten uitpakken, waaronder ace, arj, cab, deb, iso, lha, rar en rpm. PeaZip 10.5.0

PeaZip 10.5.0 brings a major update in the file manager, boosting archive browsing perfomances, improving archive editing, adding new functions to prevent running a custom list of file extensions without confirmation, and to hide or show hidden files.

On macOS all file browser styles and icon sizes are now available as on other platforms.

On Windows it is now possible to explore NTFS Alternate Data Streams to gather additional information on files, including a dedicated tools to batch scan the input for Zone.Identifier (Mark of The Web) to detect files coming from remote systems.

Sources are compiled with Lazarus 4.x, and are still compatible with Lazarus 3.x and 2.x.

Heel mooi dat dit project bestaat. Een enkele keer per jaar probeer ik deze weer om te zien of het al zin heeft 7z te vervangen. Helaas blijft deze wat snelheid betreft flink achter. En als je vaak iets in te pakken hebt, is dat niet prettig. Ik zie dan liever dat de snelheid van het inpakken aangepakt wordt.
