Software-update: Syncthing 1.27.6

Versie 1.27.6 van Syncthing is uitgekomen. Syncthing is een opensourceprogramma waarmee bestanden tussen twee computers kunnen worden gesynchroniseerd. Dit gebeurt zonder dat er een centrale server tussen zit, zoals dat wel het geval is bij opslagdiensten als bijvoorbeeld Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive en iCloud. De software is onder meer beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux, macOS en Android. Ook zijn er packages voor bijvoorbeeld Synology en QNAP. In deze uitgave is een synchronisatieprobleem verholpen.

Maar ik begrijp dat Apple niet toestaat dat niet-Apple apps toegang krijgen tot je foto's en videos op iOS..

Van de Mobius FAQ:

Because iOS manages photos and videos within the Photo Library, they are not accessible to Syncthing to synchronise directly as files.

We understand that the ability to synchronise photos and videos captured on your iPhone or iPad to other Syncthing-enabled devices is a highly desirable feature and is planned for the future.
Two-way sync of photos and videos is even more difficult...

Volgens mij is Syncthing dan niet heel nuttig op iOS. Het kan alleen 1-weg syncen en alleen de mappen die jij specifiek hebt aangemaakt voor Syncthing.

Zou mooi zijn als Apple hier iOS aanpast in lijn met de recente DMA gerelateerde aanpassingen.

Ik gebruik Stack van TransIP, voor zo ver ik weet een rebrand van NextCloud. De iOS app daarvan synced wel mijn foto's. Wel alleen op de voorgrond, dus je moet de app actief openen om te syncen.

Geslotenheid is een bekend nadeel van ios. Daarvoor krijg je meer voorspelbaarheid en security (zegt apple tenminste). Voor mij was het destijds een reden om na iphone 1 t/m 3, naar de s1, 2, ,, 24 over te stappen. Ik heb wel apple aandelen, en geen samsung .

Waarom zou je die willen boven de standaard FOSS client?
Edit: Ahh, omdat die niet bestaat.
