Limeware is een programma waarmee bestanden kunnen worden uitgewisseld via het Gnutella-netwerk. Het programma wordt ontwikkeld in Java en is daardoor beschikbaar voor diverse platformen. De ontwikkelaars achter limeware hebben zojuist versie 3.8.10 vrijgegeven en deze kent de volgende veranderingen:
Improvements in this version of LimeWire include:
- Faster Connection on startup.
- New connection strength meter that gives feedback on the quality of your connection.
- New progress bars that show how far along a search is progressing.
- Support for international searches. Users can now search for and share files for all languages!
- Much better internal MP3 player -- can now play mp3s of any bitrate without skipping!
- Improved iTunes integration for Mac Users!
- Improved downloading -- no more downloads slowing down to a crawl for the last 1% of the file.
- New button promoting the MagnetMix site for distributing files via the magnet protocol.
- More media types supported by default, such as "iso", "nrg", "cue", "bin", etc..
- Improved downloading logic. LimeWire can now handle more responses. This fixes some problems with downloading from other gnutella servents and some potential problems when downloading from HTTP servers.
- Improved efficiency of indexing between LimeWires and other clients.
- More efficient distribution of host information throughout the network.
- Many bugs fixed and optimizations made under the covers.
- New Linux-style release cycle. All odd release numbers are now in the beta series (all 3.9.x versions will be betas), with full releases coming as even ".0" versions. So the next official LimeWire release will be LimeWire 4.0.[break]LimeWire is in de volgende smaken te downloaden:
