Software-update: FileZilla 2.2.5

FileZilla is een open source FTP-client met ondersteuning voor FTP-, SFTP-, SSL- en GSS-transacties. Versie 2.2.5 is sinds kort beschikbaar en zal waarschijnlijk de laatste release zijn op de huidige source tree. Men is op het moment druk bezig met de ontwikkeling van een crossplatform source tree waar volgende releases op gebasseerd zullen worden. Het changelog ziet er als volgt uit:

Version 2.2.5 will be the last version of the old source tree. From now on all effort will be put into the cross-platform version.

New features:

• Added Norwegian translation
• You can now specify the location of the config file using the -config command line parameter.
• If parsing the server address from the command line, FileZilla now also recognizes protocol identifies prefixed with fz_, like fz_ftp:// or fz_sftp://
• The -s command line parameter can be used to connect to specified site in the Site Manager. You'll have to specify the whole path and name for the site, separated by backslashes.

Fixed bugs:

• Fix for download of files with certain characters invalid under Windows.
• Fixed crash with file viewing/editing
• No longer compress the binaries with UPX, VC++ 7.1 doesn't seem to like that at all.

Men is op het moment druk bezig met de ontwikkeling van een crossplatform source tree waar volgende releases op gebasseerd zullen worden.

Dat is nog eens goed nieuws, Filezilla is een goed programma zonder poespas. Is wel fijn dat het nu ook geport wordt naar GNU/Linux
