SunMar wist ons als eerste te melden dat versie 1j van eMule Plus een feit is. Het programma is oorspronkelijk ontwikkeld als een uitbreiding op eMule, een P2P-programma dat gebruik maakt van het eDonkey2000-netwerk. Tegenwoordig gaat eMule Plus echter meer een eigen weg.
