LSI Logic heeft een nieuwe firmware- en BIOS-versie uitgebracht voor zijn MegaRAID Ultra160 SCSI-series. De nieuwe release is compatible met een groter aantal PCI-X-implementaties en lost onder andere problemen op onder bepaalde rebuild scenario's. Door een gewijzigd coercion algoritme is het noodzakelijk om de drivers en management utilities te upgraden naar de meest recente versies. Deze zijn te vinden in de downloads-sectie van LSILogic.com. De firmware is geschikt voor de single channel MegaRAID Express 500, de dual channel MegaRAID Elite 1600 / 1650 en de quad channel MegaRAID Enterprise 1600:
Important note: Coercion changes require upgrade of utilities and drivers when upgrading to this firmware revision. Other key updates include: bug fixes, including certain rebuild scenarios; compatibility updates to work with a wider range of PCI-X systems.Bug Fixes:
1) Control-M and WEB BIOS were inconsistent in the size of physical drives reported. This resulted in the in-ability to start a rebuild on a fail drive in one utility(WEB BIOS), when the logical drive was created in the other utility (CTRL-M).
