StarDock heeft BootSkin een upgrade gegeven naar versie 1.0 RC0. Dit programma kan het opstartscherm van Windows 2000 en Windows XP in een paar muisklikken aanpassen. In deze versie worden onder andere standaard nog meer bootscreens meegeleverd. Het compleet changelog is hieronder geplaatst en laat de volgende veranderingen zien:

- Fixed issue with installing boot screens on machines missing odcommon.dll
- Fixed a paged memory bluescreen with the driver.
- Now modifies palette after de-initialization to avoid the screen flashing a color that is not black just before the welcome screen appears.
- Added a help menu item link to the BootSkin creation tutorial.
- Windows 2000 should not flash the normal boot screen for a second or two any longer. At least not on single-cpu machines. Dual processor machines will likely show it.
- Windows 2000 does not update the progress bar position nearly as much as Windows XP. So the progress bars on 2000 tend not to look like they are doing anything.
