De vuurmuur Kerio Personal Firewall is aangekomen bij de eerste release candidate van versie 4.0.0. In deze release vinden we enkele nieuwe features zoals enhanced packet filter, Intrusion Detection System en HTTP content filtering. Daarnaast is de engine van het programma getweakt voor een betere performance en minder geheugengebruik. In het changelog staan de volgende nieuwe, uitgelegde toevoegingen:

- enhanced packet filter - define unlimited number of protocols, services, address groups, time intervals, etc.
- firewall can be configured by simply permitting or denying communication to applications - suitable for beginners and less experienced users who do not want to use the advanced packet filter
- Intrusion Detection System
- System Security - applications on the desktop protected against being rewritten, modified or misused by other applications, etc.
- HTTP (web) content filtering - blocking of ads, popup windows, scripts etc. ( for experimental use only )
- new status reports in the administration Window - traffic chart, connections, etc.
- many enhancements in performance and load on the memory, especially in the kernel part of the engine

) draaide het proggie ook bij mij niet echt stabiel. Deze versie heeft daar -voor mij- niets aan bijgedragen.
