Software-update: ExifTool 10.95

Phil Harvey heeft versie 10.95 van ExifTool uitgebracht. ExifTool is een gratis en cross-platform programma waarmee de metadata van een groot aantal bestanden kan worden beheerd en bewerkt. Het werkt vanaf de commandline, maar er zijn oplossingen van derden beschikbaar, waardoor het ook met een grafische gebruikersinterface kan worden gebuikt. Sinds versie 10.90 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

• Added read/write support for MacOS FileCreateDate (writing this is the same as MDItemFSCreationDate, but reading uses a different mechanism which doesn't have the delayed-update issue of MDItemFSCreationDate)
• Added ability to write MacOS MDItemUserTags (requires "tag" utility)
• Decode a new Sony tag (thanks LibRaw)
• Properly un-escape quotes in extracted MacOS MDItem values
• Fixed another subtle order-of-operations anomaly
• API Changes:
  • Enhanced GetValue() to accept a tag name with group prefix(es)

Zoals op de website staat: Exiftool is helemaal geen cross-platform programma... "ExifTool is a platform-independent Perl library plus a command-line application for reading, writing and editing meta information in a wide variety of files."

Gelukking, de exif module die ik binnen perl onder linux gebruik is nog steeds compatible met de exiftool.exe die ik onder msdos gebaseerde systemen gebruik.

Gezien het een perl-extentie is. Kunnen we in de toekomst een powershell extentie verwachten?
