Software-update: Ghost Commander 1.53.8

Ghost Commander is een bestandsbeheerprogramma voor het Android-platform en is geïnspireerd op de Norton-, Midnight-, en Total-Commander-desktopapplicaties. Zo maakt het onder andere het kopiëren van bestanden tussen twee locaties een stuk gemakkelijker op smartphones. De ontwikkelaar heeft enkele dagen geleden versie 1.53.8 uitgebracht, voorzien van de volgende veranderingen:

• Google Drive compatibility fix
• File provider permission fix
• Added optional action bar to the preferences activity

Version 1.53.7

• Swedish translation is added, many thanks to Granberg
• shortcut launching fix
• The SDK version raised to make the app be compatible with android nougat devices. No more soft menu button, sorry.
• Additional method of detecting external SD cards is applied.
• German and 繁體中文 translation have been updated.
• Action bar (the panel with the icon and some menus on the top of the screen) could be forced to turn on or off (need to restart the app).

Version 1.53.6

• Added an ability to send and open with another application from the picture viewer
• The device if rooted now could be rebooted or to recovery from the home:/root context menu
• Fixed a remount problem on Marshmallow
• Issues Marshmallow access permission request
• Better handling the SAF volumes
• Shows symlinks on Lollipop and up

Beter is er niet...

MiXplorer is wat dat betreft toch heel wat stappen verder hoor, ook verder dan Total Commander, zowel qua functionaliteit als qua gebruiksgemak. De ontwikkelaar is ook verschrikkelijk snel in het fixen van problemen en (met soms wat tussenpozen) heel gemakkelijk te bereiken.

Verder vond ik de UI van Ghost Commander altijd zeer 'hacky' aanvoelen en teveel geijkt op een desktop-like interface die op kleine touch screens helemaal niet fatsoenlijk kan werken.

Ik ben anders zeer tevreden met Total Commander op Android.
Ik ken Ghost Commander niet, dus ik kan geen vergelijking maken, maar ik zou me zo snel geen verbeteringen voor Total Commander voor kunnen stellen die Ghost Commander wel heeft.
