Software-update: JAlbum 3.2

Iedereen die wel eens heeft geprobeerd om een verzameling afbeeldingen en foto's beschikbaar te stellen via HTML weet dat het bijhouden en ordelijk tonen van deze verzameling een moeilijk karwei is. Er zijn programma's beschikbaar die deze klus van je overnemen en JAlbum is er daar een van. Het grote voordeel van dit programma is dat je kan werken met je eigen templates (html en css bestanden) zodat je het geheel op een makkelijke manier een eigen uiterlijk kan geven. In de FAQ zien we deze omschrijving:

What is JAlbum?
JAlbum is a free tool that produces web based photo albums with index pages and slide shows from image folders.

Why "J"?
JAlbum is made in the Java programming language so it runs not only on Windows machines, but also on Macintosh System X and Unix systems like Linux. Being a Java program it needs a VM (Virtual Machine) that adopts its code for each machine. If you don't already have a VM installed (at least v1.3 is required) you can download JAlbum with a Java VM.[break]Het changelog ziet er als volgt uit:[/break]News:

• Page generation speed improved up to 400%. This doesn't affect much for first time album generation as image scaling consumes most of the time, but updates to existing albums is significantly faster.
• Pages that hasn't changed when generating albums are left untouched on disc. This enables quick updates of web albums by utilizing FTP clients with directory synchronization ability.
• Will not automatically write empty comments to images (safety precaution)
• Changed the "Save project to album directory" menu to do just that instead of saving the project to the image directory. Added a new menu option to save the project to the image directory instead.
• Recognizes .ram, .rm and .asf file types as movie files too.
• Handles parsing of US EXIF date/time format too.
• Several skins modified to work better when viewed from Netscape 4.7

Bug fixes:

• Script code put between a ja : rowiterator and ja : coliterator element wasn't executed properly

Gebruik nu een php album maar dit is zeker een goeie vervanger.

erg handig proggie, en makkelijk zelf uit te breiden dmv skins zodat het pagina's op maat maakt!
