Microsoft heeft als onderdeel van zijn november beveiligingsupdate MS15-116 ook Office 2016 voor Mac voorzien van een update. Office 2016 voor Mac bevat naast Word, PowerPoint, Excel en Outlook ook het notitieprogramma OneNote. De update van het kantoorpakket voor OS X, die het versienummer naar 15.16.0 optilt, wordt in losse downloads per module aangeboden, die in grootte variëren van 359 tot 874MB. Deze update wordt overigens ook via de Microsoft AutoUpdate aangeboden en in dat geval kan de download kleiner zijn.
