Er is een update voor versie 2.0 van BitTorrent Sync uitgekomen. BitTorrent Sync is een closedsource peer-to-peer file synchronization tool met clients voor Windows, OS X, Linux, BSD, Android, iOS, Windows Phone en diverse nas-apparaten. Het maakt het mogelijk om in eigen beheer bestanden te synchroniseren tussen diverse apparaten, maar slaat in tegenstelling tot diensten als Dropbox, Google Drive en OneDrive niets op cloudsystemen op. De verschillen tussen de gratis en de betaalde versie zijn in 2.0 wel groter geworden, zo kunnen met de gratis versie nog maar maximaal tien mappen worden gesynchroniseerd en kunnen geen rechten worden ingesteld. De belangrijkste verbeteringen die in versie 2.0.120 zijn aangebracht kunnen hieronder worden gevonden.

- Search for folders, users, and devices in the folder list, peer list, and in licenses.
- New optional column for “Owner” so you can easily see who owns which folder.
- New optional column for “Last transferred” so you know the last time files were changed in a folder.
- Ability to hide offline devices in the My Devices list that you are not using anymore.
