Software-update: Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit 1.06.1.1018

Malwarebytes heeft versie 1.06 van Anti-Exploit uitgebracht. Dit programma moet de computer beschermen tegen kwetsbaarheden, exploits, in onder meer webbrowsers en Java. Die maken het namelijk mogelijk dat kwaadaardige software ongemerkt en zonder tussenkomst van de gebruiker op de computer wordt geïnstalleerd, met alle gevolgen van dien. Anti-Exploit is net als Anti-Malware verkrijgbaar in een gratis en een betaalde uitvoering, die als extra's bescherming tegen exploits in onder meer Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office en diverse mediaspelers biedt. De changelog voor deze uitgave ziet er als volgt uit:

EMET achieves this goal by using security mitigation technologies. These technologies function as special protections and obstacles that an exploit author must defeat to exploit software vulnerabilities. These security mitigation technologies do not guarantee that vulnerabilities cannot be exploited. However, they work to make exploitation as difficult as possible to perform.

EMET also provides a configurable SSL/TLS certificate pinning feature that is called Certificate Trust. This feature is intended to detect (and stop, with EMET 5.0) man-in-the-middle attacks that are leveraging the public key infrastructure (PKI).

Erg fijn programma, heb hem lopen (de premium versie) naast MBAM Premium en Defender. Fair enough.

Gaat die later ook in de MBAM Premium worden geïntegreerd? Lijkt mij wel handig.

Dus dit werkt alleen voor een aantal browsers, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Office en diverse mediaspelers en niet voor andere applicaties?

In de Premium versie kan je naast de standaard applicaties ook zelf applicaties toevoegen.

Ook als je programma's up-to-date zijn heb je dit nodig. Niet alle flaws verdwijnen door updates, anders zouden ze er immers allemaal al uit zijn. Hoe MBAE technisch werkt weet ik niet precies, maar het heeft zeer zeker effect.

Ik heb het nu even getest, jammer genoeg maar 1 programma gevonden: firefox. Ik ben wel erg tevreden dat zelfs ook de addons worden ondersteunt! Ik zal hem toch maar verder testen, het verbruikt ook erg weinig resources.
