Versie 2.12 van Calibre is uitgekomen. Calibre is een opensource- en crossplatform-e-bookbeheerprogramma. Het kan onder andere alle relevante informatie en kaftafbeeldingen opzoeken, en e-boeken converteren om ze geschikt te maken voor de diverse soorten e-readers. Verder kan het programma kranten, tijdschriften en nieuwsartikelen op basis van rss-feeds omzetten in e-bookformaat, en kunnen er boeken worden aangeschaft bij de bekende webwinkels. In versie 2.0 is onder meer overgestapt op Qt5 voor de gebruikersinterface en zijn er verbeteringen met Android-devices die aan OS X worden gekoppeld. In deze uitgave zijn verder nog de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen doorgevoerd:

- E-book viewer: Tighten heuristic used to detect footnote links. Do not consider a link that is the only content inside a block level tag as an endnote link, even if it is linked back to from its destination.
- Update the version of libimobiledevice shipped in the Linux and OS X builds to 1.1.7, should help with some connection issues to Apple devices.
