Versie 9 van DVDFab is alweer een tijdje uit, maar nu is er een update verschenen uit de "oude" 8.x-serie. DVDFab bestaat uit verschillende onderdelen die kunnen worden gebruikt om films van een dvd of blu-ray te rippen, kopiëren en converteren naar een formaat dat bijvoorbeeld op een draagbaar apparaat als de PSP of iPod kan worden afgespeeld. Het programma kan een volledige kopie maken, maar het is ook mogelijk om afzonderlijke onderdelen te kiezen, bijvoorbeeld alleen de hoofdfilm met een beperkt aantal talen en ondertitels.
De verschillende onderdelen van het programma hebben elk een eigen licentie. Wie geen behoefte heeft aan de blu-ray-functionaliteit of geen draagbare speler bezit, hoeft ook niet voor deze functionaliteit te betalen. Alleen het gedeelte om een schijfje te rippen, waarbij tegelijk de beveiliging en de regiocode kunnen worden verwijderd, is nog altijd gratis. In versie 8.2.2.9 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

DVD Creator:

- Fix: A 500 error when remux one internal subtitle or two external subtitles.
