Software-update: Dropbox 2.0.8

Versie 2.0.8 van Dropbox is uitgebracht. Dropbox is een onlineopslagdienst die het mogelijk maakt om bestanden tussen verschillende computers te synchroniseren. Daarnaast kunnen bestanden en fotoalbums worden gedeeld met mensen die geen Dropbox-account hebben. Clients zijn beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux, OS X, iOS, Android, BlackBerry en Kindle Fire.

Een gratis account geeft toegang tot 2GB opslag, met de mogelijkheid dat uit te breiden door nieuwe gebruikers aan te dragen. Voor tien, twintig of vijftig dollar per maand is dat respectievelijk 100GB, 200GB of 500GB. De belangrijkste verandering in versie 2.0.0 is een nieuw pop-up-scherm, dat vanuit de system tray informatie over belangrijke gebeurtenissen kan geven. Dit werkt nog niet onder Linux, maar dat is uiteindelijk wel de bedoeling. Sinds de introductie van versie 2.0.0 zijn nog de volgende verbeteringen aangebracht:

Dat slaat inderdaad op de bestanden.

Je moet hem handmatig downloaden en installeren. Hij zal niet automatisch updaten.

Wat ik irritant vind aan versie 2 is dat je niet makkelijker ziet hoeveel ruimte je heb, je moet nu na de rechte muisknop eerst op dat knopje rechts boven klikken.

Voor versie 2 zag je het gelijk nu eerst langs een extra irritant menu.

Volgens de helpfunctie van DropBox zelf zou DB automatisch moeten updaten, maar ik heb het nog niet meegemaakt dat op een van mijn pc's de versie spontaan bijgewerkt is.

Is het bekend dat dit niet werkt (ook niet zoals DB zelf zegt met enige vertraging) of moet ik linksom / rechtsom iets aanzetten?
