Er is een update voor versie 4.7 van PeaZip uitgekomen. Dit archiveringsprogramma wordt onder een opensourcelicentie beschikbaar gesteld en downloads zijn beschikbaar voor Windows en Linux. Het programma wil zich van de concurrentie onderscheiden door zich te specialiseren in veiligheid. Het versleutelen van data is dan ook een van de voornaamste functies van het eigen pea-formaat. PeaZip kan 7z-, bz2-, gz-, paq/lpaq-, pea-, quad-, tar-, upx- en zip-bestanden creëren, en diverse bestandsformaten uitpakken, waaronder ace, arj, cab, deb, iso, lha, rar en rpm. - Before creation of archives it is displayed a quick approximate calculation of potential compression, and the strength of password is displayed as color band on the bottom of the password form.
- Main extraction parameters (as extract in new folder and naming policy to skip/overwrite existing files) are displayed in extraction form title and during drag and drop operation from archives.
- On Windows deleted files are moved to Recycle Bin by default alongside existing quick and secure deletion functions, and semaphore is used to efficiently queue multiple instances.
- A total of 171 file extensions are supported, now including Open Packaging Conventions file formats (Windows 8 Apps .appx, AutoCAD .dwfx, .xps, etc).
- Translations are available in 29 languages, but any help is welcome to translate PeaZip to new languages and maintain current ones, so please give a look to translations page.
