Versie 7.1.0 is uitgekomen van Zarafa Collaboration Platform. Dit programma kan gezien worden als een opensourcetegenhanger van Microsoft Exchange Server, en is in staat om e-mail-, agenda- en webmailfuncties af te handelen. Daarnaast biedt het een volledige MAPI-stack aan, waarmee een Microsoft Outlook-client kan communiceren door een plug-in te gebruiken. In de community-edition is dit echter beperkt tot maximaal drie gebruikers. Voor meer informatie verwijzen we naar deze pagina. De release notes voor versie 7.1.0 zien er als volgt uit:
Zarafa Collaboration Platform 7.1.0 final release
This new major release includes the new Zarafa-search for each server in use and replaces the centralized Zarafa-indexer. This new search engine is based on Kyoto cabinet and is used to improve retrieval speed of search results. A rewritten Caldav gateway is included to provide better calendar experiences especially with apple devices and Mac PCs. Both Dagent and Spooler functionality have been extended to support python scripting hooks that allow system administrators and developers to extend the functionality of these with personal scripts to manipulate content sending and delivery. The filtering of duplicate emails when users are members of more than one group while these groups are emailed was highly requested and is now part of the 7.1.0 release.
For the outlook users there have been improvements for synchronization resuming, offline speed for initial synchronizations and the client side embedded MySQL engine has been upgraded to mysql-5.5.
The upgrade process from 7.0 to 7.1 is easy and quick, as no extensive data conversions or alterations are required. The main work after upgrading is to review the custom settings and setup the search demon on all nodes.For the full release notes on this release please read the following document.
