Software-update: jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.147 beta

Ook de jv16 PowerTools ontwikkelen op hoge snelheid, en ziedaar, versie 1.1.0.147 mag zijn eerste beta al verwelkomen. Dit zijn de veranderingen die deze versie met zich meebrengt:

- Fixed the show entries feature for backups.
- Fixed some GUI problems with computers using small screen resolutions.
- Improved the Open in RegEdit so it now only is visible in those OSses which support it, WinME, 2000 and XP.
- Improved the registry tool's remove software thing to find more entries to remove.
- Improved the registry tool to show more information about programs which start with windows.
- Fixes many small GUI bugs.
- Improved the ignore list system so that you can now comment ignore list entries and also use multiple lists.
- Improved the settings system so that you won't now lose your custom settings every time you update the program.
- Improved the network features but they still need a lot of work. [break]Je kan deze versie hier van de server trekken.

jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.148 RC1 is uitgekomen. Dit is de eerste niet-beta sinds lange tijd. Het is helaas nog geen final maar lang zal dat niet meer duren. Er zullen geen nieuwe functies meer worden toegevoegd, maar alleen maar bugs worden opgelost voordat de final uitkomt.

jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.148 RC1 released.
What's new:
- Improved a lot of file tool's performance.
- Improved filetool's user interface quite a bit.
- Fixed a bug in the file tool's duplicate finder. It sometimes found small files (< 2 k) as duplicates even if they weren't.
- Improved the registry tool's registry cleaner. It's now slower than it used to be but it finds more invalid entries.
- Improved the registry tool's safety.
- Fixed the file tool's mp3 info retriever part. It now works much better.
- Improved the installer, it now gives you much more options how to install the program.
- Improved the network code in a way that all network traffic is now encrypted.
- Removed the ActiveX / COM scanner. I will add it when I get it to work (= not any time soon)
- Fixed a lot of small bugs.

Er zijn wat bugs gefixed in jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.148 RC1; er is nu een nieuwe versie verschenen met versienummer 1.1.0.148 RC1b:

Please note:
If you have downloaded jv16 PowerTools 1.1 RC1 and it crashes or quits while you are using the registry cleaner then download the file again. Or if the registry cleaner finds a lot less ignored entries than it used to then you should also download the file again. I have uploaded a fixed version. The fixed version is called 1.1.0.148 RC1b.
Known bugs:
- The min, max and close window buttons do not work under WinXP SP1 is the visual styles are enabled.
- If you scroll the list of the registry tool at the exact same time the program adds a new item to it the list goes crazy.
- The file tool's option to find files based on the file's size doesn't work on very large files (> 4-5 GB)
- The network features don't work on slow computers / networks.

Update:
jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0.149 RC2 heeft support voor een heel aantal talen, waaronder Nederlands (Dutch).

Verder is er op de site nog de mededeling te lezen dat in deze RC's geen nieuwe functies meer worden toegevoegd en dat er ook geen bugs meer in zouden zitten die niet op de lijst van bekende bugs staan. Meer informatie hierover is te lezen op de site.

Persoonlijk vindt ik dit soort proggies in me eigen taal fijner werken.

Nee, die zit al in de standaarduitvoering, bij 'language' kies je voor 'dutch' en je bent klaar.

Je moet wel 'language-packs' aanvinken bij de installatie.
Daarna start je hem op, ga je naar Options, Language en kies je voor Dutch.

En nog steeds wordt aanbevolen de activex/com scanner niet te gebruiken . Wanneer komt meneer jv16 nou eens met een stabiele versie? De beta's volgen elkaar in hoog tempo op, maar gezien de hoeveelheid bugs die elke keer weer worden gefixed zijn ze niet echt bruikbaar. Over het algemeen is het een geweldige tool, maar ik raad aan voorlopig nog maar de stable versie te gebruiken.

I'm currently finishing the jv16 PowerTools 1.1 RC1 (release candidate 1). It will be released within a few days, most likely tomorrow. It contains a huge amount of small improvements and also quite alot of bug fixes.

Een niet onbelangrijke aanvulling die wel duidelijk op de site staat maar niet in de post:

Don't use the ActiveX / COM scanner yet.

Die verwijdert namelijk standaard teveel, waardoor er bij sommige programma's problemen (kunnen) ontstaan. Hierover is al gesproken in de reacties op de vorige versies (sommige tweakers hadden wel de ActiveX / COM scanner gebuikt), zie: jv16 PowerTools 1.1.0: 147, 146, 145, 144, 143, 142, 141 beta.
