Afgelopen vrijdag is er zoals gebruikelijk weer een nieuwe versie van Calibre verschenen. Dit opensource en crossplatform e-book-beheerprogramma kan onder andere e-books converteren tussen de diverse bestandsformaten om ze zo beschikbaar te maken voor de diverse soorten e-readers. Verder kan het ook nieuwsartikelen op basis van rss omzetten naar e-bookformaat en is er een viewer waarmee e-books op de computer kunnen worden gelezen. In versie 0.8.27 is onder andere ondersteuning toegevoegd voor de nieuwe tablets van Amazon en Barnes & Noble.
