Apple heeft een update uitgebracht die een videoprobleem op bepaalde MacBook Pro-modellen moet oplossen. Het gaat om modellen die met een 15-inch scherm zijn uitgerust en die zijn geproduceerd tussen medio 2010 en begin 2011. Het probleem, dat overigens niet op alle modellen voorkomt, is dat de video soms grijs wordt of zelfs helemaal uitvalt, met een herstart tot gevolg. Is de machine uitgerust met OS X 10.7, dan kan de update zelf worden uitgevoerd, maar als 10.6 nog aanwezig is, wordt aangeraden met Apple contact op te nemen.
Symptoms
Apple has determined that a small number of MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) computers may intermittently freeze or stop displaying video on the built-in display or on an external display connected to the MacBook Pro. In this situation, you may also see a restart warning message before the video is lost or the display turns black or gray. Affected computers were manufactured between April 2010 and February 2011.

For computers with OS X Lion, v10.7
Run Software Update from the Apple menu to update your computer to version 10.7.2, then install MacBook Pro Video Update 1.0. If the symptoms persist after installing the update, select one of the service options below.
For computers with OS X Snow Leopard, v10.6
Select one of these service options:Apple will run a software diagnostic test to determine if your computer qualifies for service for this issue.

Note: If your 15-inch MacBook Pro is not experiencing any of these symptoms, you do not need to contact Apple.
Apple will service affected 15-inch MacBook Pro computers free of charge until two years from date of purchase. Apple will provide further extensions to this program as needed. This worldwide Apple program does not extend the standard warranty coverage of the affected MacBook Pro.
