Vrijdag is er weer een nieuwe versie van Calibre verschenen. Dit opensource- en crossplatform-beheerprogramma voor e-books kan onder andere e-books tussen de diverse bestandsformaten converteren, om ze zo beschikbaar te maken voor de diverse soorten e-readers. Verder kan het ook nieuwsartikelen op basis van rss omzetten naar e-bookformaat en is er een viewer waarmee e-books op de computer kunnen worden gelezen. Sinds versie 0.8.22 zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

- Kobo: Add support for fetching annotations from the kobo reader.
- Right click the send to device button in calibre with your kobo connected and choose fetch annotations. The annotations are placed into the comments of the corresponding books in the calibre library. This feature is still experimental.
- Preserve the set of selected books in the library view when a device is connected, fixing a long standing annoyance

- E-book viewer: Don't choke on windows installs with a non UTF-8 filesystem encoding.
