Mede8er heeft nieuwe firmware uitgebracht voor de MED500X2-mediaspeler. Deze opvolger van de MED500 is opgebouwd rondom een Realtek 1185-mediaprocessor en de speler zit boordevol moderne snufjes, zoals gigabit-lan, usb 3,0 en ondersteuning voor 3TB grote harde schijven. De firmware heeft versienummer 1.0.1 meegekregen en is 132MB groot. De release notes voor deze versie zijn hieronder te vinden:
