Er is een nieuwe ontwikkelversie van de opensource-ftp-client FileZilla verschenen. FileZilla is klein, simpel en toch compleet. Het programma is populair vanwege de geringe belasting van de systeembronnen. FileZilla is beschikbaar voor Windows, Linux en Mac OS X, en kan vanaf deze pagina in verschillende uitvoeringen worden gedownload. Nieuw in versie 3.5.0 is onder andere dat de transfer queue nu in een SQLite-database wordt opgeslagen, wat prestaties en geheugengebruik ten goede komt. De downloadgrootte is echter bijna vervijfvoudigd. Een andere verandering is dat de binaries voor Linux niet meer voor Lenny, maar voor Debian Squeeze worden gecompileerd.
New features:Bugfixes and minor changes:
- The transfer queue is now stored in an SQLite database. This greatly improves performance and vastly reduces memory consumption while loading/saving the queue
- Additional improvements to general queue performance and memory consumption
- The provided Linux binaries are now compiled for Debian Squeeze instead of Lenny
- Fixed crash during shutdown of FileZilla
- Clearing the queue when it was not yet fully populated no longer causes a crash
- If using ask login type for a site and no username is given, the initial focus is now on the user box in the login dialog
