Firmware-update: Areca ARC-11xx/12xx/1680/1880 1.49

Areca heeft alweer even geleden voor de raid-controllers in de ARC-11xx-, ARC-12xx-, ARC-1680- en ARC-1880-series nieuwe firmware uitgebracht, met 1.49 als versienummer. Nieuw is onder andere de toevoeging en optimalisatie van de ARC-1880-series en het ondersteunen van harde schijven groter dan 2TB. De volledige lijst met veranderingen ziet er als volgt uit:

Heel goed nieuws dat de oude series ook >2TB disk support krijgen.

Al is het me enigzins onduidelijk of de ARC-1212 (= 1680) met deze update ook >2TB disks aankan. Weet iemand hier (al) meer over?

uhm volgens mij klopt dat niet. ik heb een ARC-1220 (oude series in jou woorden?) en daar op heb ik al zeker een jaar lang 4x2TB schijven in raid5 in hangen.

als ik het zo lees is 2TB support alleen toegevoegd voor de nieuwe kaarten waar het nog niet in zat.

2TB kon altijd al op deze controllers, maar groter dan 2TB niet.
Wat ik bedoel is dat ik in uit het changelog niet kan opmaken of het voor alle door Japke genoemde series het geval is.

Het gaat om support van harddisks van groter dan 2TB. Niet over het formaat van de uiteindelijke raidset :-)
