Cerulean Studios heeft een nieuwe bètarelease van versie 5.0 van het instant-messagingprogramma Trillian Astra uitgebracht. Met Trillian Astra kan worden gechat met gebruikers van een groot aantal instant-messaging- en sociale netwerken, waaronder Windows Live, ICQ, Skype (alleen tekst), Twitter en Facebook. Op dit moment is Trillian Astra beschikbaar voor Windows en de iPhone, en er is een versie die in een webbrowser draait. Daarnaast zijn er bètaclients voor Mac OS X, BlackBerry en nu ook voor Android. In versie 5 zijn voornamelijk de mogelijkheden voor sociale media verbeterd. Daarnaast is er ondersteuning voor Foursquare en is synchronisatie van data tussen de verschillende clients mogelijk. In versie 5.0 build 28 bèta treffen we voornamelijk bugfixes aan.
Trillian for Windows: Fixes! (5.0 Build 28)
Build 28 has been released to testers. We’ve worked on fixing many bugs with message rendering (Skype, group chats, Yahoo ordering) and also made various improvements to tackle the CPU usage bug some of you have reported. There may be a handful of lingering CPU issues in this build so please let us know how it works for you. A batch of other bugs have been fixed for Build 28 as well.
The history servers have been holding up well and we’re hoping to move to our next phase of testing in 29 or 30. This will involve sending and receiving actual history data, although as the servers will still be in a testing mode we may reset them and purge data as necessary. When we move to the next step all users will be given the choice to opt-in to synchronized history or to leave it off and use the legacy system.
