AVM heeft nieuwe bètafirmware uitgebracht voor twee van zijn Fritzbox Fon-routers, namelijk de WLAN 7270 en WLAN 7570 VDSL, waarmee ze geschikt worden voor IPv6. De Fritzbox Fon is een adsl-modem, router en access point in één, en beschikt ook over uitgebreide voip-mogelijkheden. Verder beschikt het apparaat over een usb-aansluiting, waarmee een printer of externe opslagcapaciteit op het netwerk kan worden gedeeld. Terugkeren naar de officiële firmware is altijd mogelijk, zorg dus voor een backup. De release notes die met deze firmware wordt geleverd, is hieronder te vinden:

You can restore the official firmware to the FRITZ!Box at any time. Attention: Doing so will discard all of your personal settings. Be sure to take note of the instructions for saving the current settings of your FRITZ!Box before you download the lab firmware.
