Firmware-update: Qnap TS-410 3.1.2 build 1207 / TS-419 3.1.2 build 1205

De ontwikkelaars van Qnap hebben nieuwe firmware uitgebracht voor verschillende modellen van hun nas-systemen. De nieuwe firmware is bedoeld voor de modellen die uitgerust zijn met een Marvell 6281-processor: de TS-419U, TS-419P, TS-410 en TS-410U. Het versienummer is afhankelijk van het model vastgezet op 3.1.2 build 1205 of 3.1.2 build 1207, en voorzien van de volgende lijst met veranderingen:

Bug Fix:

• Solves the random network disconnections

Note1: If you NAS is already shipped with the v3.1.2 Build1205, then there's no need to apply this update.
Note2: After the firmware update, the NAS itself will reboot automatically twice, and this takes about 8 minutes.

Dat zijn dus de veranderingen van meuk: Qnap SS-x39 / TS-x39/509/809 Turbo NAS 3.2.0 build 1212
Dit is echt een andere uitgave, let op het versienummer etc.

Ja maar niet voor de 109, 209 en 409 modellen.

509 heeft een Celeron CPU, de andere oudere modellen een Marvell.

Ik vind persoonlijk de firmware support van QNAP bagger. Een NAS hoort vooral stabiel te draaien, maar vergeleken met Synology die vaker met updates komen en alle modellen in een firmware release mee nemen, ook de oudere, is het bagger.

Gaat over deze firmware. En direct hieronder:

an FYI: Take the warning about backing up your data seriously and not just as a "best practices" suggestion. Installing the firmware reset my NAS to factory settings. Didn't lose anything, as I haven't DONE anything to it (drives still aren't here!? UPS, it's after 7PM!!) but yeah, thought i'd mention something about it.

Ik maak me wel wat zorgen over het schijnbare gemak waarmee er even een nieuwe firmware wordt uitgebracht. Niets over hoe goed deze releases getest zijn. En je NAS 'even backuppen' is makkelijk gezegd, maar het gaat om systemen met meerdere TB aan data! Zou zelf 2 a 3 weken afwachten of er geen klachten op fora verschijnen.

Inderdaad. Ik hoop nog heel erg op de FTP mogelijkheid waarbij je de timestamp kan meezenden. Ik wil namelijk remote een pc laten synchroniseren via FTP, maar dit gaat niet omdat de timestamp gereset wordt.
