Driver-update: Intel INF Update Utility 4.00.1011

GoGoHaRrY liet ons weten dat voor mensen met een op een Intel-chipset gebaseerd moederbord een nieuwe versie van de Intel INF Update Utility beschikbaar is. Versie 4.00.1011 van de Intel INF Update Utility bevat het volgende chagnelog:

• Added Preload support for Intel(R) 845G/GL Chipset.
• Added -USB2 switch. When invoked along with the setup allows to do a NO_DRIVER install for the Intel® 82801DB/DBM USB2 Enhanced Host Controller-24CD device. If this switch is not used, a yellow exclamation point ( ! ) would be seen for the controller unless a USB2.0 driver is loaded.
• Corrected the chipset support list in these release notes to include the Intel® 845E and 850E chipsets. Also removed the Intel® 845M chipset and replaced with the Intel® 845MP and Intel® 845MZ chipsets in both the readme.txt and these release notes.
• Corrected Traditional Chinese character on the last page of the Installer.
• Corrected name string in registry key for Windows* 98SE OS for DID 24CC. This is corrected for ICH4-M Controller.
• Fixed the Windows* 2000 OS preload to not update the device 244E (PCI-PCI Bridge).
• Just an FYI. Chipset INF do not support pre-load for USB2.0. OEMs have to provide their own drivers.

Net als drivers voor je videokaart zijn dit drivers voor de chipset van je mobo

Is geen enkel risico om deze te draaien

Jah maar zover ik weet betreft het alleen i8xx chipsets die hier wat aan hebben. Ik meende er ook 1 gezien te hebben voor bv de 440BX alleen als je XP draait dan heb je al de laatste drivers

Deze file hoef je niet te downloaden als je Win XP heb, daar zit tie al bij

Dit is een nieuwere setup dan in Windows XP.
Updaten heeft dus onder Windows XP met een i8xx chipset wel degelijk zin!

Dan vraag ik mij toch echt af wat de 845M/MP/MZ voor chipsets zijn en of de MP staat voor wat ik denk dat 'ie staat

Of zijn het OEM-lowbudget-chipsets? zoals de ZX de low-budget BX was.

lost dit dan eindelijk de verwaring in xp op met usb2? dus dat de drivers wan windows update en van hunzelf niet meer in de war liggen

De releasenotes weergegeven in het newsitem kloppen niet. Dit is verse 1011, terwijl in de releasenotes hierboven alle wijzigingen van de versies vanaf 1008 staan vermeldt. Check dus ff de link naar Intel bovenin de posting.

Ik meende er ook 1 gezien te hebben voor bv de 440BX alleen als je XP draait dan heb je al de laatste drivers

Op mijn windows 2000 machine geeft hij ook aan dat de nieuwste drivers reeds geinstalleerd zijn en dat upgraden niet nodig is.

Ok ik heb dit ook geinstl. maar euh ik heb iets van i810-L en da staat er niet eens bij . Bij het 1e maal opstarten krijg ik nieuwe hardware bij leuk is dat maaar ik heb er niks ingestoken. De preformance is niks beter eigelijk.
