Vrijdag is versie 2.6.1 van PeaZip verschenen. PeaZip is een onder een opensource-licentie beschikbaar gesteld archiveringsprogramma dat zich van de concurrentie probeert te onderscheiden door zich te specialiseren in veiligheid. Het versleutelen van data is dan ook het speerpunt van het eigen pea-formaat. Het programma kan 7z-, bz2-, gz-, paq/lpaq-, pea-, quad-, tar-, upx- en zip-bestanden creëren en diverse bestandsformaten uitpakken, waaronder ace, arj, cab, deb, iso, lha, rar en rpm. - (Windows) 7z backend updated to 9.04
- Added LZMA2 compression in 7z format
- Read .XZ files

- It is now possible to define a custom desktop folder in Settings
- (Linux) this change fixed possible access violation message at the first run of the application, while the application attempts to open a system dialog to set desktop folder (only on non-English installations, on distributions not using "Desktop" name for desktop folder)
- Removed deletion functions from archive layout interface, del remapped to remove item from layout

- Fixed a bug in dragging items to bookmarks (bookmarks bar was raised even if it was hidden)
- Now size of multipart archive is reported correctly in PeaLauncher
- Fixed password input using extract here from context menu
- (Linux, Qt) moved libqt4intf.so in PeaZip's path (as in portable version) and created links into /usr/lib, /usr/lib32 and /usr/local/lib
- Some fixes for Windows 9x systems; please note that some of the backend application may not run properly on Windows 9x, and the frontend too may behave unexpectedly on some configurations since it is not possible to test it on many different 9x machines.
