TotalIdea Software, bekend van onder andere Tweak-XP Pro en TweakVI, heeft dinsdag de eerste publieke bètarelease van Tweak-7 uitgebracht. Dit tweakprogramma voor Windows 7 kan zowel overweg met de 32bit- als de 64bit-uitvoering van Windows 7 en ondersteunt op dit moment alleen de eerste release candidate, build 7100. Na installatie kan het programma maar twee weken worden gebruikt. Dit hoeft echter geen probleem te zijn, want er zullen regelmatig updates worden uitgebracht. Hieronder zijn alle veranderingen te vinden die aan het programma zijn aangebracht sinds het het levenslicht gezien heeft:

- Fixing several exceptions that occurred in relation to missing files and directories
- Fixing an incorrect date format conversion on start up
- Fixing a delay during setup that caused the setup to freeze for a couple of seconds

- Multiple fixes in several sections

- If the Tweak-7 system service is not running, and cannot be started by Tweak-7, the application now displays a warning and terminates, instead of crashing
- Several changes related to the handling of http and mailto calls
- if no application was associated with http and mailto requests, the application was crashing in previous builds
- Fixing an issue that occurred in several sections of Tweak-7 related to the de-activation of system services
Beta v1.0 Build 500
- On Russian editions of Windows 7 an error occurred during startup of Tweak-7. This should have been fixed now.
- Tweak-7 crashed if System Restore was disabled on the target machine, or if there were no System Restore Points
- Several crashes have been fixed that were caused by attempts to read from non existing registry keys and non existing files
- A few changes to the Tweak-7 System Service application
- Multiple changes and fixes in several sections of the main application
- Multiple changes to the setup application
