Software-update: Zope 2.11.2 / 2.10.7 / 2.9.10

Zope is een webapplicatieserver geschreven in de ontwikkeltaal Python en wordt uitgegeven onder de Zope Public License. Het beschikt onder andere over een 'transactional object database', dynamische html-templates, scripts, een zoekmachine en connecties naar relational databases. Het programma kan geheel zelfstandig gebruikt worden, maar het is ook mogelijk om het aan andere programma's te koppelen, zoals Apache. De ontwikkelaars van Zope hebben een vier nieuwe uitgaves vrijgegeven met 2.11.2, 2.10.7, 2.9.10 en 2.8.10 als de versienummers. De lijsten met veranderingen zien er als volgt uit:

Version 2.11.2:

Wat is het voordeel hiervan boven iets als Apache?

Dat is nl licht, heeft alles aan boord wat je zou willen hebben, en is bovenal niet afhankelijk van python.

waarom een auto gebruiken als't ook met een fiets kan?
Dit is geen webserver, maar een webapplicatieserver. Je zou het misschien kunnen vergelijken met Zend Framework (PHP) terwijl dit geschreven is in python.
