Dinsdag is de tweede release candidate van versie 1.8 van de populaire Bittorrent-client µTorrent uitgekomen. µTorrent is een zeer complete Bittorrent-client die het geheugen en processor niet of nauwelijks belast. Daarnaast is de grootte van het programma is ook nog eens minimaal. Versie 1.8 van µTorrent is nu al ruim acht maanden in ontwikkeling en de eerste alpha dateert van 13 november van het afgelopen jaar. Hieronder zijn alle veranderingen en verbeteringen te vinden die sinds de eerste release candidate aan het programma zijn aangebracht:

- Move icmp port bind failure message to misc error log
- Prefer to resume pieces which are more complete
- Sort piece bar column on Pieces tab by number of busy blocks
- Stopped torrents now show no ETA instead of infinity
- Do not automatically register .torrent, prompt instead
- Fix overuse of ellipses in menu items
- While downloading, disconnect 'upload only' peers that have nothing we need
- Do not display infinity for >1000 share ratio in general tab
- Improve peer connection priority system

- Send reject messages for requests dropped from socket buffer
- Bring the window to the front correctly when "Activate the program window" under "When adding torrents" is selected on Windows 98/2000+
- Reset .torrent file attributes when copying to storage so that it can be deleted etc. later if wanted
- Prevent excessively long multiscrape HTTPS URLs because wininet can not handle them
- Fix column display when RSS category is selected and no torrents are loaded
- Showing of RSS Downloader from category context menu when no RSS items were present
- Include HTTP seed connections in "use proxy for p2p connections" option
- Shutting down when there are deleted torrents to process and graceful_shutdown is on
- Systray icon loading before Explorer is running
