Phpeclipse is een plugin voor het ontwikkelplatform Eclipse waarmee ondersteuning voor php wordt toegevoegd. Het beschikt onder andere over syntax coloring, brackets matching, code folding, parameter hints en ondersteuning voor Xdebug, dbg en cvs. Voor een overzicht van de aanwezige functies verwijzen we jullie door naar deze pagina, en op deze pagina wordt Phpeclipse beknopt vergeleken met Pdt en Phped. De ontwikkelaars hebben met 1.2.0 en 1.1.9 als de versienummers twee nieuwe versies van Phpeclipse de deur uitgedaan. De bijbehorende aankondiging ziet er als volgt uit:
New 1.1.9 & 1.2.0 releases
The PHPEclipse developers are very happy to announce the release of the 1.1.9 and 1.2.0 versions of PHPEclipse.
These new releases bring several bug fixes and new functionality to PHPEclipse.
The 1.1.9 release adds XDebug support, and the 1.2.0 release adds XDebug as well, plus RSE support. Both versions sport the new PHPDoc view. This feature allows you to click in a PHP function and get the PHP manual entry for that function in it's own view.
1.1.9 is to be used on Eclipse 3.2, and 1.2.0 is for Eclipse >= 3.3.
We are eager to start working on the 1.3.0 release that is going to add many more features and fix other bugs in the system. You can see updates on the progress for 1.3.0 at http://dev.phpeclipse.com/.
