Maxthon heeft dinsdag een nieuwe versie van de gelijknamige browser uitgebracht. Maxthon is een zogenaamde wrapper, een schil om Internet Explorer. Het programma maakt gebruik van de interne motor van IE om de pagina's op te bouwen, maar heeft een eigen interface met allerlei extra functionaliteit. In versie 2.0 treffen we onder andere een opgefrist uiterlijk aan, kunnen er verschillende proxy-instellingen per websites gebruikt worden, zijn er met een wachtwoord beveiligde profielen voor verschillende gebruikers en gaat het door de modulaire opbouw efficiënter om met system resources. Het changelog van deze release laat de volgende veranderingen zien:
