Xfire is voorzien van een update naar versie 1.76. Xfire is een chatprogramma wat verschillende mogelijkheden heeft die voornamelijk voor fanatieke gamers interessant zijn. Zo kan er zowel binnen als buiten spellen worden gechat in tekst en spraak, worden er statistieken bijgehouden van je prestaties in verschillende spellen, is te zien welke spellen de mensen op je contactlijst op dat moment spelen en zijn gamepatches en demo's via een eigen P2P-netwerk binnen te halen. Op dit moment worden er een kleine 900 spellen ondersteund, waarvan een 175 'one-click join' en ruim 500 'in-game chat' ondersteunen. In deze release is onder andere de mogelijkheid toegevoegd om bestanden middels drag&drop in een chatscherm te versturen, is de processorbelasting verlaagd en zijn er uiteraard weer de nodige spellen toegevoegd aan de lange lijst met ondersteunde titels. Ook is in de release notes een aankondiging van een bètaprogramma te vinden:

- Added notifications in the Xfire application when a *beta* clan/guild event is about to happen.

- Fixed a problem with the automatic update system that could cause abort/retry/ignore prompts.
- Changed screenshots on profile pages to .jpg files to display much faster.
- Fixed several small problems with group voice chats.
- Improved Xfire In-Game performance with Lord of the Rings Online.
- Fixed a huge possible CPU usage problem with accessing World of Warcraft armory data when viewing a user playing that game.
