Eergisteren is versie 3.0.1 van van het dvdcatalogusprogramma DVD Profiler uitgekomen. Oorspronkelijk werd dit programma door Intervocative Software uitgebracht, maar de bedenker Ken Cole is echter voor zichzelf begonnen. DVD Profiler onderscheidt zichzelf van soortgelijke programma's doordat het niet gebruik maakt van online filmdatabases, zoals bijvoorbeeld IMDb.com, maar van een database die wordt bijgehouden door de gebruikers van dit programma. De ongeregistreerde versie heeft slechts een klein aantal beperkingen totdat er meer dan vijftig titels in de database worden toegevoegd, daarna wordt de functionaliteit drastisch afgeknepen. Gebruikers van versie 2 kunnen gratis een licentie aanvragen voor versie 3. Verder is het ook de moeite van het vermelden waard dat er nu een versie speciaal is voor draagbare apparaten die Windows Mobile draaien.
