Enkele dagen geleden is versie 2.5 van DVDx uitgebracht en el snel is deze opgevolgd door 2.5.1. Met dit programma kan er gemakkelijk een 'back-up' worden gemaakt van een dvd maken naar VCD2.0-, SCVD1.0- of avi-formaat met behulp van DivX-compressie. Het grote voordeel van dit programma boven andere gelijksoortige programma's is dat er bij DVDx geen grote hoeveelheden ruimte op de harde schijf vrij hoeft te zijn, want er wordt rechtstreeks van dvd af gewerkt. Sinds versie 2.5 is er een standaard editie die alleen video kan coderen en een Ultra Edition, waarmee ook dvd's kunnen worden geript. De eerste wordt onder gpl-licentie uitgebracht en is via SourceForge te downloaden, voor de andere kun je op de website van BPF Sarl terecht (alleen beschikbaar voor betalende donateurs). - Added a VC6 macro for automatic build numbering and moved version information in mpeg_encode.rc2 and VersionNo.h (the rightest version digit is use to carry the build number, starting as of 1000 for Jim's builds)
