WinPatrol is zojuist bijgewerkt naar versie 9.8.1.0. In dit programma houdt 'Scotty, de Windows-watchdog' het systeem in de gaten, waardoor dit sneller en stabieler zijn werk zou moeten doen. Het detecteert en stopt spy-, ad- en malware, virusaanvallen, kwaadaardige Internet Explorer-addons en voorkomt startpagina-hijacks. Daarnaast worden nog een aantal andere zaken in de gaten gehouden, waaronder de op de pc draaiende processen, het hosts-bestand en de bestandsextensies.
