Driver-update: Intel Pro/1000 6.2.15

Intel ontwikkelt op Sourceforge een aantal drivers voor zijn Ethernet-producten op het Linux-platform en deze worden onder de GPL uitgebracht. Sinds enkele dagen is er een nieuwe driver beschikbaar voor de Intel Pro/1000 gigabit Ethernet-producten. Het versienummer is aangekomen bij 6.2.15 en de ontwikkelaars hebben de volgende lijst met aanpassingen meegegeven:

• Fixed the DRV_LOADED bit setting when disabling the net interface in Linux, AMT doesn't switch to active
• Fixed access to non-existent registers can cause kernel panic at worst and loss of functionality at best
• Fixed the e1000.spec file which contained no strings for PCI ID 1099
• Included Linux support for Kingsport II with Device ID 1099
• Fixed Tx Hang on 2.6.13 kernel with TSO on with Ophir
• Fixed different flow control defaults from other NICs
• Fixed the traffic stops during small packet stress w/napi disabled
• Fixed the fifo_error counts by not incrementing netdev->fifo_errors
• Fixed the driver which reads hardware stats even when down.

• Added support for identifying eeprom image version in ethtool register dump
• Fixed compiling warnings and errors
• Set flow control watermarks relative to PBA size
• Fixed system panic with running ifconfig_tst under network stress

• Corrected the incorrect id string for device id 1013 with subdevice 1013
• Removed non-intel sub-vendor ids from pci.updates
• Fixed kernel panic with bridging
• Fixed netdev errors under rx/tx stress
• Implement a workaround for premature Tx descriptor WB
• Fixed when the driver incorrectly detects hang during stress test on 10mb hub
• Fixed link loss caused by certain operations during SOL/IDER session
• Fixed autonegotiation which causes the link to drop on switches with Spanning Tree enabled, the link takes longer to recover.
• Cleared contents of buffer_info struct in clean_tx_irq
• Fixed the WOL status which was incorrect for the second port of dual port cards
• Fixed the failures in ethtool loopback diag
• Fixed the link loss caused by certain operations during SOL/IDER session
• Fixed the kernel panic with e1000-6.0.54 with 82573 with Knoppix 3.3
• Fixed the receive problem when MQ enabled
• Fixed a build problem when mq is enabled and napi is disabled
• Added support for a printout of the state of Multiqueue with the number of queues.
• Implemented a single buffer size using 2048 byte descriptors for all receive modes on non PCI Express hardware. Jumbo frames use an appropriate number of 2048 byte descriptors.
• Added statistics for Multiple Queues
• Corrected the make which returned warnings
• Fixed the adapter identification did not work as expected
• Fixed the WOL status reported by ethtool which did not match the EEPROM
