WinPatrol houdt het systeem in de gaten, waardoor deze sneller en stabieler zijn werk kan doen. Het detecteert en stopt spy-, ad- en malware, virusaanvallen, kwaadaardige Internet Explorer-addons en voorkomt startpagina-hijacks. Daarnaast worden nog een aantal andere zaken in de gaten gehouden, waaronder de op de pc draaiende processen, het hosts-bestand en de bestandsextensies. Versie 9.7.4.0 is sinds kort beschikbaar met de volgende veranderingen:
