NewsLeecher 5.0 bèta 11

Er is een nieuwe bètarelease uitgebracht van NewsLeecher versie 5.0. Met dit programma is het mogelijk om op een eenvoudige manier bestanden uit nieuwsgroepen te downloaden. Het programma ondersteunt nzb-bestanden, beschikt over een SuperSearch, en kan gedownloade bestanden automatisch op integriteit en volledigheid controleren, en vervolgens zelfstandig uitpakken. Nieuw in versie 5.0 is onder andere dat er tabs zijn toegevoegd aan de SuperSearch. Verder is er nu een SuperSearch Watchdog en is men druk bezig de gebruikersinterface te verbeteren. Het changelog voor deze release laat de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen zien:

Improved features:

• Larger Change - Redesigned User Interface
  The SuperSearch interface has been totally redesigned, to make it much more streamlined with the rest of the application. The new interface also makes it much easier and faster to navigate bookmarked and non-bookmarked SuperSearch search queries. NOTE: The interface uses a new format for the SuperSearch bookmarks. NewsLeecher will automatically import your existing bookmarks to the new format, while keeping them intact to you should be able to revert to an older version of NewsLeecher without losing your bookmarks. But to be completely safe, it is recommended that you backup your NewsLeeher data before installing.
• Major NewsLeecher launchtime improvements, depending partially on the number of SuperSearch bookmarks stored on the system.
• Added a couple of buttons to the SuperSearch toolbar, which makes it possible to specify the width of the 'Result Filter' and the 'Append String' input boxes. The buttons can also be used to show / hide the input boxes.
• It's now much easier to see, whether the 'Connect' and 'Pause' buttons are activated or not.
• Lots of visual improvements. (Christmas theme has been expanded, etc.)

New features:

• Larger Feature Addition - SuperSearch 'Counter'
  While the new SuperSearch 'Count' feature is simply represented by a button on the SuperSearch toolbar, it's a pretty powerful feature. It can be used to check up on all your SuperSearch bookmarks simultaneously, to find out whether there are newly indexed articles since your previous searches were performed. The number of newly indexed articles are shown next to the bookmarks names in the bookmark view.
• ** User Interface Compacting Feature #1 **
  Added a button to the lower right corner of the NewsLeecher statusbar, that makes it easy to toggle between a 'normal sized' and a 'compact sized' main toolbar.
• ** User Interface Compacting Feature #2 **
  Added a button (yes, one more) to the lower right corner of the NewsLeecher statusbar, that makes it easy to toggle between a 'normal sized', 'compact sized' and 'very compact sized' listview interface.
• Added a button to the SuperSearch toolbar, that makes it possible to turn on / off the newly implemented SuperSearch Bookmarks View. When turned off, the view can temporarily be viewed, by positioning the mouse cursor near the left-side edge of the SuperSearch articles view.
• When the 'Connection / Graph' panel is hidden, by clicking the hide button down in the lower right corner of the NewsLeceher statusbar, it can now be temporarily viewed, by positioning the mouse cursor on the NewsLeecher statusbar.

Fixed bugs:

• Many bug fixed. (Turning off log scrolling now works. Better checking for too long filenames when downloading, etc.)
