Hoewel op frontpage nog steeds melding wordt maakt van versie 1.80.3, is in het forum op diezelfde website sinds enkele dagen versie 1.82 van XnView al te verkrijgen. Waarschijnlijk is dit zo omdat op dit moment alleen nog maar de Windows-versie beschikbaar is en de versies voor Linux en Mac OS X nog op zich laten wachten. Met dit programma kunnen meer dan 400 verschillende formaten grafische bestanden worden geopende en geconverteerd. XnView is gratis voor thuisgebruik en non-profit organisaties, en in meer dan 40 talen te gebruiken. Deze release wordt geleverd met de volgende waslijst aan veranderingen:
