About a month ago I ordered and paid for a new PC (about 2700 euros), after weeks of delays, no communication and my constant follow ups I decided to cancel my order (as I cant wait any longer). I phoned in today to require the status of my order and they indicated “O darn, I have some bad news, we will only be able to deliver in 2 to 3 weeks” (with no explanation why. I then asked to have the order cancelled and have the prepaid money transferred back to me. They cancelled the order but blatantly refused to refund me today. Apparently it will take weeks to process (as well).

Be careful when you want to order from Alternate. Rather pay the 10 euros (odd) more with Azerty and know you get quality products, on time, to spec with a great customer experience

This is the worst This is the worst part of the entire process. Not only did they never communicate with me on any of the delays (I always just found out ex post factor), but engaging with them both via email and via phone is a horrible experience. They treat you like absolute crap (like you should be thankful they even answered the phone). They don’t provide you with resolutions to your problems, they treat you like a 2 year old, and they are extremely arrogant

No I haven’t and I think the below (and your response on Tweakers) is a misrepresentation of facts. In fact, you have NEVER contacted me to discuss the delay in any component. In fact I am the one that was constantly following up. Secondly again, a lie from your side, according to our correspondence a week earlier, it was clear that all the components were in stock and just waiting for assembly (I have a copy of the recorded phone call which I can happily share). on Friday afternoon at 16h00 when I phoned you indicated that half the components were out of stock. So how does this happen in a matter of a week? Everything is in stock and then all of a sudden its not?>

Thirdly, another lie you posted. According to you I cancelled my order “right when all the components came into stock”. Again, a lie. I cancelled because you said it will take a further three weeks for the stock to come in (at 16h00 on the same day I cancelled). How on earth does stock that is supposed to come in in 3 weeks, magically arrive literally 5 mins after I cancelled the order (on a Friday at 16h08 when you also clearly indicated that you weren’t expecting any deliveries)?

Finally, the money is still not reflected in my account (which is yet another lie).

We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with our service.
According to our information, we have spoken with you several times about the fact that not all components were in stock.
You were also informed that the estimated assembly times would change, if components were switched out for others and that the assembly cannot move forward, until all components are available.

As it stands, the assembly was waiting on several components which had a longer delivery time than usual. Also, the waiting time for assemblies had increased, due to a large number of new orders.
Unfortunately, you cancelled your order, just as all components had become available and your order was queued up for assembly.
